pounds. A 50-pounder is a trophy. Salmon are caught trolling, drifting or at anchor.

Troll Kings,
JIG HALIBUT |
Halibut fishing is good May-September. These behemoths can attain sizes over four hundred pounds, are aggressive
feeders and pull like freight trains. Jigs work well, as do a variety of baits such as octopus and herring.

Silver, or Coho salmon, are caught July-September in the ocean. They feed so heavily on abundant candlefish, or
sand lances, they actually grow a pound a week.
Delicious lingcod have an open season beginning July 1. They can reach sizes of 50 pounds or more, the smaller
ones better cuisine. Sea bass, up to five pounds, are sometimes annoyingly ubiquitous.
