Flight Touring
Away from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ships and ferries, the east arm of Glacier Bay is home to many species of marine life, such as harbor seals and sea lions, and is a popular feeding spot for humpback and orca whales. The tidewater glaciers in this region are receding fairly rapidly, and as a result, often calve huge icebergs into the bay providing a dramatic site for those fortunate enough to behold it. Let Air Excursions take you and your guests to the tranquil east arm of Glacier Bay. Tours of Glacier Bay are available daily. Our trips may be tailored to your needs and preferences. Choose either a float plane tour which includes a water landing for a close up view of a glacier's face, or a wheel plane for a spectacular arial view of the Park. These tours are an excellent way to see what Glacier Bay is all about. Bear Viewing at Admiralty Island
This flight takes you to the land of the bears, Admiralty Island, where bears have been coming to feed in the salmon rich streams for centuries. This trip includes a water landing in a float plane for viewing and photography. Available mid-July through mid-September. Just over the steep ridge line that serves as Juneau's impressive backdrop, lies a frozen world of snow, ice, and jagged mountain peaks. Extending over 1500 square miles north and east of town, the Juneau Ice field marks the boundary between the coastal regions of the Inside Passage and the arid desert-like terrain of western Canada. The ice at the top is as much as 5,000 feet deep and forms the origin for over 30 massive glaciers that flow outward into Canada and Southeast Alaska.
If you want to see glaciers, ice, and an overview of Juneau, but don't have alot of time, then this is the flightseeing tour for you. Flight duration 45 minutes.
Or, if you prefer, our Cessna 206 float plane can drop you off on a pristine lake for a half or full day in a fisherman's paradise. Available May-September
Embark on a journey that few human eyes have seen, as you paddle your way through glacier fed water to your pick-up point. This is a true wilderness experience you won't want to miss. Available June-September
