I'm doing a test of a new panorama tripod head I made (it's awesome!), and new panorama software. For both, the test is stitching together 12 images, properly taken with the tripod head, and seeing how the software stitches them together. The ultimate criteria is how it works with horizontal lines, to see if they match up, as close to perfect as possible. Hence the deck railings, window frames, cedar siding as the subject. It works!
Pictures taken March 8, 2008, 3:00 pm, +35F. Notice how low on the horizon the sun is. (March 7 set a record high for Fairbanks: +46. Previous record was +44. Normals are highs +18, lows about -5.) I cleaned off the snow on the b-ball court, and played yesterday.
Please try all three viewing options below. I want to test them on your 3 computers - they all work on mine. Each of you e-mail me and let me know if they work. On all, if you hold down your left mouse button, move it left ot right, you can speed up/manually change the movie speed.
Casey - show this to your roommates. Awhile back you asked for pictures of Fairbanks.
By the way, in general, never download and open a .exe (executible) file, unless you are 100% convinced the source is safe, as this one is.
Click here to see the 1446 Hans Way html panorama, via your web browser.
Click here to see the same as a Quick Time movie. Left click the "-" button a few times to view the full wide angle. Apple Quick Time has to be installed on your computer - most likely it already is. If not, forget this one.
Click here to see the same as an .exe (safe, no virus). You'll be prompted to download the file. I assume you know where your downloaded files are saved. Go there, and double click on the "1446.exe" file. Unless you want to save it, delete it when you've viewed it.
