jaunts.  When our babies at home managed to get beyond the diaper stage, we were often joined by the wives and we provided them with shotguns and licenses.  The additional firepower added to
the larder and contributed to a more lengthy cocktail hour while cleaning birds at the motel.  I be-
lieve the ratio was somewhere along the line of one fifth of booze per limit for about six hunters.  That ratio was occasionally subject to change.
   Hunting season around this country always occurs during another season that has caused many a scheduling conflict.  And that is football season, both the college games on Saturdays and Pro football on Sundays.  We adjusted to this challenge because we were all fans of the University of Washington Huskies and found ourselves driving around the Palouse country on a Saturday afternoon with the car radio giving us updates.  The hunting pressure was usually a little lighter during the hours of 2-4 p.m.
