Reflections of the PastJoin us for a historic cruise riding in the wake of adventure, learning and discovery. We're going to dust off old photos and myths taking you to where history actually happened. Our tour will go off the beaten path to stand where legends fell, to where the Tlingit navigated these waters in handmade canoes and where Douglas was forged into a great town through the blood and tears of our forefathers. There is a world of adventure awaiting you, as we bring the heroes and legends of history back to life. Discover the fascinating story of the Gastineau Channel and Taku Inlets past. We will share a collection of historic events, artifacts and photographs relating to its people and the area from before the turn of the century. From the moment you examine these relics your mind will be captivated by those who left their mark on our area. You'll meet Joe Juneau and Richard Harris who were led by Auk Indian Chief Kowee. They struck it rich at Gold Creek in 1880. You will see seven of the gold mines that were discovered. These changes had an enormous effect on small native villages on the banks of the Gastineau Channel and the Taku River. Our family is Alaskan history! Grandpa Kibby worked in the Alaska - Juneau Gold Mine from 1931 until its closure in 1944. Our family has been here ever since and are proud to share the history, lore and legends of Juneau and Douglas. Please ask Questions! |

The Nature of ThingsExplore North America's largest rain forest. The Tongass National Forest is almost 17 million acres in size. Our 70 mile cruise follows the shores of the Tongass National Forest, home to rare and unusual plants and animals and fascinating geological sites (glaciers, cliffs and waterfalls, streams, reefs and incredible scars left by glacial retreats). The natural beauty of Alaska has a value beyond price. Our national parks have changed little since the days when the Tlingit people were the only ones to live in the frontier that we now call Juneau. The rugged wonders that inspired the pioneers are still with us. Orcas rule the waters, eagles and ravens rule the skies and Admiralty Island or Kootznoowoo "Fortress of the Bears" is the home of the largest concentration of brown bears in the world. Humpback whales, stellar sea lions and bald eagles, rare or endangered species elsewhere, are plentiful here. Photo opportunities for wildlife, landscape and seascape abound in Taku Inlet and Gastineau Channel. The M/V Noble Lady is your passport to fun and adventure. They are wild, after all, and therefore follow their own schedules, but we hope that you will experience some of the breathtaking views that we have seen while on this path down Gastineau Channel through Taku Inlet to the Taku Glacier.
