Kenai Peninsula Chapter of the Green Star Program

Sponsorship Agreement

The Kenai Peninsula chapter of the national Green Star program (hereinafter called "Chapter") is a cooperative of the Kenai, Soldotna, and North Peninsula Chambers of Commerce, who operate the program along with representatives of governmental, environmental and business groups on the Green Star Committee.

The goal of the program is to promote the ideals of waste minimization and energy efficiency, help organizations achieve those goals profitably, and give them public recognition for their efforts. Funding for the Chapter is provided in part by annual sponsors.

The following terms define the agreement between Chapter and Sponsor, depending on level of sponsorship:

1. Sponsor agrees to provide Chapter with sponsorship fee.

2. Chapter sponsorship will be for one year.

3. Sponsor is allowed to use Green Star logo and name in order to identify itself as a Chapter sponsor for the length of the sponsorship.

4. Chapter operates as an IRS Section 501 (c) (3) organization.

5. Chapter will display Sponsor name and/or logo or give other recognition according to the level of sponsorship. Sponsor will provide name and/or logo pattern.

6. Chapter Coordinator will apprise Sponsor on a regular basis of the recognition Sponsor is receiving as a Chapter sponsor of the length of the sponsorship.

7. Other terms as mutually agreed upon by Chapter and Sponsor also apply.

8. This Sponsorship Agreement is governed by Alaska law as it is applied to contracts entred into in Alaska to be wholly performed within Alaska.

9. Chapter will feature Sponsor in a newspaper and radio advertisement to further publicize Sponsor's sponsorship.

10. Any dispute under this Sponsorship Agreement will first be discussed between Chapter and Sponsor. If not resolved by this discussion, the dispute will be resolved only by binding arbitration in Kenai, Alaska, before a single arbitrator under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator shall set forth the basis for his or her decision, and final judgment upon his or her decision may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
