This graph shows levels of four pesticide by species. (The screening levels are represented by this series of bars on the left, to avoid superimposed lines.) In this comparison, the higher concentrations were in crab butter and King salmon. The higher fat content of the salmon and the function of the crab hepatopancreas are believed account for the higher bioaccumulation of these chemicals. Another interesting comparison is the seaweed and chiton, in which very little contamination from these pesticides was detected.
No single pesticide was found to predominate, and no single location showed as having consistently higher levels of these pesticides.
