And that's the way it was...

As I put this little home together (well, it's better than cleaning the house!), I am reminded of the first time I played on a Macintosh (way back in 1988!) The excitement that came from creating on a machine that seemed to know how I thought and could get me one step closer to perfection was as cool as indelable ink! Of course, I became obsessed! I spent all my midnight hours, my son asleep on the floor, learning Pagemaker and Freehand and any other program I could get my hands on. The trials and errors. The frustrations and joys. The finished product!

Of course, back then, and still today (DTP), no one was allowed to see all your mistakes. Well, until you gave them a hard copy, or, God forbid, let them watch over your shoulder! Yes, I had a modem. I went to a few BBS's and, sorry, but was bored stiff. (Although I've always enjoyed writing, I am graphically ingrained!) With no art but ASCII what was the use?

Now I've got what I've always wanted, even if everyone can see my mistakes as I go along, (come to think of it, I don't even mind!), I enjoy the input. I thrive on the art and humor of the Net! I am once again addicted to my machine and what it can do and I really like that.

I've got to say, for the record now, that I enjoy the people best of all! It's like I just got a world (literally) of new friends. The Net keeps me happy and I see no end. I'd like to say thank you to my good friend Louise, who first read my little newspaper (typed, cut and pasted), Stone's Throw, and introduced me to the Mac. I am forever in her debt!
