Net'd By Night
Chapter 4...Looping
I've sent the magic on... I've pushed it through space and time. I've wrinkled it and thrown it away. I've given it up. I've torn it into little pieces on the trail into night, but still it clings. I have no time. It owns me. I've seen the colour of it and cannot do without. Wrapping beyond me and around me and through me, the world is no longer a void of grey. It jumps the boundaries I have set and spins into a wild dance of its own. The taming of it is something I dreamed and I am excited to let it wander wherever it will. Lead me and the rocks will fall away.
As of late, the boy has grown bored following my quest and has gone onto other realms. Youth reigns and beguiles and his wit is a touching tribute to my teachings. His voice lifts in the play of his magic and a new friend sings with him in laughter. They work the game to the very top and back again, delighted in the strategies of others. Finished. At hand. Perhaps they need the piece smooth to see the way clear. Footholds built amidst the foundation. Wings to fly.
I grasp at the life that flows into me. The long named and the anonymous respond to my queries with questions of their own. I write on the magic in cobalt response and the hues of myself change with the warm replies. Influencing. Enhancing. Calling me to laugh. Shining inside me are their simple endearments. A flower drawn out of its seed fills me with memories of a time when I was not alone. I am no longer alone. I have sent myself into the magic of others and they, in return, have lent me precious time and careful words and lightened the lid on my heart. I am endeared to them now. I am enamoured with their pleasantries and will perhaps, as time goes by, send more than a single strand of the colour that fills me. Through the far away I feel the touch of them upon my page and my spirit lifts.
The quest continues...
