I love the complex patterns like this one in forests. Lichen in all the trees. Makes for chunky water when you melt the snow near them though.

We met some hikers along the trail. This shot shows how extreme the trail got. I often lifted the 4 month old pup up and down these nasty sections. As if the way back down wasn't tough enough, we encountered a pair of menacing looking dogs.

They were actually wanting to escort us down the mountain. No owner in sight. They would ru ahead and Kam would be in hot pursuit, dragging me all the way. In no time we were back in town. Sunny the cat was happy to see us!
