Mythos Expeditions Kodiak

--Birding--

thewildcoast.com

The Kodiak region is wonderful for birding, since it is the western most edge of many North American species and the eastern most edge of many Eurasian species. Spring migrations of sea birds, fall migrations of sea birds, and summer nesting of both land and sea birds make Kodiak a great place for a birding adventure. Come along and see.

Longtail Jaeger

Near the south end of Kodiak Island, the land makes a transition to low mountains and rolling tundra with numerous ponds. Here birds come to nest each summer season. We anchor the Mythos in protected embayments and go ashore to watch and record the various nesting species. Along with the birds are also the other inhabitants of the land and sea, and though we intend to observe the birds, we enjoy the many other distractions.
