Summer Grief Group

Those who have experienced a loss and would like to learn more about the process of grieving and connect with others who are experiencing similar loss are invited to attend the "Hope Through Healing" Bereavement Education Support Group. This safe and confidential , 8 -10 week session begins July 29th and is free of charge. The weekly meetings take place at 6:30PM in the Pioneer Home Manager's House.

Win a Holland Americ Cruise!

Brave Heart Volunteers is excited to announce their Raffle to win a 7 day Holland America cruise for two. Other prizes include gift certificates to local restaurants, Rountrip Water Taxi Services, an Allen Marine tour for two and more! All proceeds will go to helping Brave Heart Volunteers to assist families dealing with long term illnesses and end of life transitions. Drawing will be in September and winners don't need to be present to win. Tickets are $10.00 each and can be purchased at the Brave Heart Volunteers office in the Pioneer's HOme Manager's House.

Board of Director's Retreat

On September 4, 2010, the BHV Board of Directors will have their annual retreat. It will be held at the Pioneers' Home Manager's House from 9 AM-1PM.

Holland America Raffle Drawing and Dinner, September 12, 2010!

Join us for a dinner at the Elks Lodge, September 12, at 6 PM to celebrate our drawing for the Holland America Cruise. Lots of fun and activities will be happening from a Dessert Auction with News Reporter Ed Ronco hosting the auction, to a Pinata for the kids. All prizes will be awarded from this raffle at this time, although winners need not be present at the time. Good Luck!

Caregiver Education and Support Meeting, September 18, 2010

This month's meeting will focus on "What's New in Advanced Directives". Klaudia LeCesse, Social Worker, for the Pioneer Home will be presenting this topic. The presentation will be a working one, focusing on preparing the Advanced Directive Packet. Present and former caregivers of anyone experiencing chronic or terminal illness, Alzheimer's Disease or other related health issues are invited to attend and participate in this discussion. Lunch will be provided.

James O'Dea Presentations, September 23, and 25, 2010

James O'Dea, Former President of the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Former Director of Amnesty International will be present topics on "Creative Stress" and "You Were Born for Such a Time as This." The "Creative Stress" talk is free to the public, although donations are heartily accepted will be held on Thursday evening at the Pioneers' Home Chapel. "You Were Born..." will cost $50, for pre-registration, $60 at the door on Saturday afternoon at the SEARHC Community Health Services. Brave Heart Volunteers is sponsering both of these talks.
