About M/V VALKYRIE

Join us aboard our elegant, classic 106' M/V VALKYRIE for your personalized Inside Passage wilderness sightseeing, whalewatching, cruising and/or fishing experience. Here's a bit of information about our vessel.

M/V VALKYRIE

M/V VALKYRIE is documented wooden vessel 257979. She was built in 1944 by Ventnor Boatbuilding Company of Atlantic City, New Jersey for the U.S Army as an air-sea rescue vessel.  As P750, she served in the Aleutians during WWII, along with two sister ships.

After the war, she was purchased by Chris Berg, of Berg Marina in Seattle, given her name, and converted to yacht/charter configuration by designer Ed Monk and builder Victor Franck. She was Seattle's premier Christmas Ship for many years. We purchased her in 1993, and have restored and enhanced all vessel systems.

Hull construction is double-planked fir on oak beams with six steel bulkheads and steel anchor strikes.  The sun deck allows for storage of auxiliary vessels and life rafts, and has two electric winches.  The main deck has a single large cabin containing wheelhouse, dining area, salon, and covered stern deck with ramp access.  The work deck contains engine room, tank well, galley, pantry, mess hall, eight staterooms, and four heads.

Vessel size: Length, 106 feet, beam, 19.5 feet, draft, 6 feet.

Power:  Two 6-110 GMC diesel engines produce a cruising speed of 11 knots.

M/V VALKYRIE is a locally owned and operated charter vessel, available for crewed multi-day cruises for up to twelve guests from April 15 through September 15.  From September 20 through April 10, she is available for dockside meetings, lodging, parties, and dinners.
