hank you for your interest in hunting with Wolf Creek Outfitters. My outfit was founded on the concepts of high value, top trophies, fair chase, a
nd a lifetime of memories. I offer you the experience, organization, logistics, equipment, food, and most definitely a great opportunity for you to harvest a trophy animal.
I offer hunts in two areas. Every other season I hunt brown bear on the Alaska Peninsula. These hunts occur in May and October. The other area I hunt comprises approximately 5,000 square miles of the Brooks Range. This includes the Chandalar River and
adjacent drainages from the continental divide in the north to Indian country in the south. From August through September I harvest Dall sheep, moose, grizzly, caribou and black bear. This website will provide you with a comprehensive and detailed desc
ription of both areas and associated information related to them. But first, allow me to guide you on a brief soiree through my outfit and the philosophies and practices I adhere to.

hen I decided to start my own operation I was determined to make it a showpiece of efficiency and customer satisfaction that put you, the hunter, a
t the forefront. One that would neither be constrained by cost nor a slave to volume. This operation is dedicated to you and your success and enjoyment. When you book a hunt with me every detail that can be controlled by man is covered from the time yo
u arrive in camp until the time you leave. After all, you did not earn your success without attention to details and that is what you should expect from and outfitter. That is exactly what you will get when you hunt with me.
How many hunters do you know who have booked a hunt for a specific number of days only to arrive in camp and find that three days into their seven day hunt their outfitter had stacked another hunter in your time period on the assumption that he would fill
out in four days or less? Or, when he had finally arrived in spike camp with and inexperienced guide, deficient equipment and a few cans of beans, the outfitter isn't to be seen for several days?
Frankly, it is not an uncommon scenario and if that happened to me, I'd hit the roof. When you put out the time and money for a professional hunt, that is what you should get.

hen you arrive in camp the quality and condition of the equipment will most likely impress you. It's your first indication of the high level of pr
ofessionalism and efficiency you can rely on during your hunt. I do not use anything that is not in top working order. There is always back-up equipment and supplies. Each camp is separated, inventoried, labeled, and designated to a specific guide and c
lient. Ready to go without losing time or finding that something is missing once you are in the field.
The next thing you will notice is the professionalism of the guides and staff. I believe that you get what you pay for. Although one may manipulate the checks and balances to produce a satisfactory picture when viewed from a particular angle, a solid res
ult is only possible when each phase of the operation functions at full efficiency. The guides and staff I have are some of the top in the industry and the backbone of the operation. I insist on hiring the best available and treat them as professionals.
Most are registered guides themselves. In fact some may be former outfitters that have decided that they enjoy the guiding more that the business associated with it.
As an example of how I run the operation, when you book a seven day hunt with me you are assigned a specific guide for the duration (seven days). The guides are paid for the entire hunt whether you fill out in the first ten minutes of the first day or no
t. He is your guide until the time you leave camp.
Suppose you are fortunate enough to harvest the trophies you want early in your hunt. Great! …and I want you to enjoy the rest of your time with us. I encourage you to enjoy the camp life. You and your guide may spend the time hunting ptarmigan or fishi
ng for grayling. You may decide to finish a novel you hadn't had time for at home. You may leave, of course, but we would be disappointed.
The point is that you have one guide for the duration of your hunt and I don't book another hunter overlapping your time slot and I won't assign you another guide unless there is an unlikely personal conflict.

hen I put you in the field with your guide it will be in as close proximity of trophy game as is practical. You will always be put where there is t
rophy game at the outset of the hunt but if the game moves or you are successful for a particular species you will be moved, if necessary, to a new area coincidental with the next species you are hunting. You can usually count on moving at least twice fo
r most multi-specie hunts. Your guide is supplied with a handheld radio for safety as well as logistic. This enables me to check on you, usually every other day, given good flying weather, to reassess your situation, supplies, etc. I consider the radio
s an essential tool in providing efficient logistics but they will never be used to violate the concept of "fair chase."

o one man a hunt might be termed successful if he bags every animal he is after, regardless of its score in the record books. To another, having a
good time may be important. To some outfitters, success means that everyone fills out, thus entitling him to claim a 100% success rate.
These reasons are important to me too, but I am dedicated to harvesting trophy animals, not just representatives of the species. The Brooks Range and Alaska Peninsula areas I hunt harbor record-book species in every species I contract for. They usually
require more time and a greater effort to get. You may look a bit worn around the edges and in desperate need of a shower by the time your hunt is over. You might even have had to endure a night out on the mountain or in the brush with nothing more than
your cheerful guide to keep you company. But the object is to get you an animal you will be happy with. Not one that you settle for under the adversity of a long hard hunt, but one you will be proud of when you are warm and toasty at home, long after t
he hunt is over.
Good business is good business and trophies are what I am after. I don't book for volume. I book for trophy management and I allow enough time on your hunts to keep you from feeling rushed.

hus far I've given you an overview of my operation philosophy and a brief insight as to how I conduct the hunts. I know you have many more questio
ns: trophies, travel, hunt details, etc. Please read the rest of the material on this web site. It should answer many of your questions
. If not give me a call, fax, or e-mail.
Let me leave you with one last thought. When you book a hunt with me expect it to be as successful and enjoyable as nature will allow. We have no control over the weather but try to anticipate and prepare for everything else. If you should have an unli
kely problem during one on my hunts I will make every effort to make it right for you. Good hunting, and be sure to bookmark this page and complete the e-mail form so that you may be automatically notified when changes occur. Thi
