How to HTML

The trick about life
is to make it look easy.

Behind the curtain stuff that makes your page stand out!

Can you tell I think you must have a page by now???

~ MUSIC TO MY EARS ~

Wonder how to make those neato pages that play music?
I use this when I make special "pagecards" for friends
and family, like for Anniversaries and Birthdays.

To add a basic link to a sound MIDI
Musical Instrument Digital Interface

Tchaikovsky...6.June: Barcarolle (O.Aksu)

<A HREF="http://www.ptialaska.net/~melissag/htmlguide/juneb1.mid ">
Tchaikovsky...6.June: Barcarolle (O.Aksu)</A>

(Note: You would use this command when you are linking
to a lot of MIDI's or leaving the name of your background music
just in case people don't hear it on their browser for some reason.)

To add background music to your page

Add this after the "BODY" tag in your page.
The top "EMBED SRC" is for Netscape. The bottom
"BGSOUND SRC" is for Internet Explorer. Use both.

<EMBED SRC=
"http://www.ptialaska.net/~melissag/htmlguide/juneb1.mid"
AUTOSTART=TRUE LOOP=TRUE
VOLUME="65" CONTROLS="SMALLCONSOLE"
HEIGHT="16" WIDTH="16"</A>

<BGSOUND SRC=
"http://www.ptialaska.net/~melissag/htmlguide/juneb1.mid"
AUTOSTART=TRUE LOOP=TRUE
VOLUME="65" CONTROLS="SMALLCONSOLE" HEIGHT="16"
WIDTH="16"
</A>

Be sure to FTP your MIDI's as BIN or RAW data
into your page directory or they won't work.

~ META META bobata ~

I have to say I just really think META's are still kewl.
Even after all this time. *smiles* So let's do some more to
get your page up there in the spotlight with the Search Engines!

Okay..here's some different META's for Stone's Throw.
Change the
blue information to words that fit YOUR page.

<TITLE>Stone's Throw</TITLE></HEAD>

Note :): Add as many descriptive words as you want.
If you have naughty stuff on your page add that too, like "ADULT ONLY"
so that the Nanny software that protects kids from grown up stuff online
can tell not them to come there. It's nice to be polite and use your Netiquette.

Well...it's been a LONG time since I worked on this guide.
I must admit I've had a craving for it. I hope by now you've
learned a lot about your own pages and HTML. I'll be adding more
soon! I have a list even! *smile* Looking forward to seeing your
pages when I'm out there surfing around!

See you! Melissa/WhymsiqueL
