HERITAGE

The small town of Kodiak, on the northeast of the island, is part old Alaska and part metropolitan with a mobile, plural society. You see remnants of the original native Aleut culture as well as Russian heritage here, bright blue onion domes of Orthodox churches signaling Alaska's past.
