This is a brief history of Fort Durham, a Hudson's Bay Company trading post located in Taku Harbor, 22 miles south of Juneau, Alaska. It was in operation from 1840-43. The first-hand accounts from the diaries of the officers and the description of the archaeological investigation of the site provides a glimpse into the fur trade in the middle 19th century in Southeastern Alaska.
