The Johan Fridi has a rail full of Oilwind jigging machines.
|
In 1910, OILWIND began as Harald Joensen's blacksmith shop . During its first years, the company primarily serviced the Faeroese fishing fleet, but with clear vision and hard work, the Joensens made good progress developing and manufacturing equipment and machinery for the fishing industry.
OILWIND jigging machines work very well in the north Atlantic waters and most people are now ordering electrically powered machines in preference to hydraulic power...Phil Lockley, Fishing News International.

OILWIND survives on innovation, and is internationally known for its quality products, marketed under the brand name OILWIND. A team of highly qualified engineers design and manufacture (in-house) a wide range of deck machinery, fish handling, and seafood processing equipment and systems to meet the demands of progressive vessel owners and shore based customers. Most widely known for our experience in the field of hydraulics, most of OILWIND's products are hydraulically driven (hence the name OILWIND). As sales and service agents for most of the best known international hydraulic manufacturers, and in close cooperation with them, we are able to service nearly everything in the field of hydraulics. Capstans, windlasses, and anchor winches...cargo and mooring winches...cable winches, sea cranes...specialized trawl and auxiliary winches, are some of our products. Our
total commitment to the fishing industry is covered by the following areas: |

In 1998, Alaska Fishing Machines was started by fisherman Dave Kubiak in order to provide OILWIND jigging machines to cod fishermen in Kodiak. Alaska. Why? Because they are the best and he wanted them on his boat. OILWIND products are innovative, reliable, and well made. Asked about starting a repair station on Kodiak for OILWIND products, Jakup Joensen replied, "You won't make money on that. They don't often need repair." Since then, Alaska Fishing Machines has sold jiggers to fishermen from Alaska, Canada, the East Coast, Bermuda, and Far East Russia. "With modern shipping and communications, ordering from Alaska is just as convenient as your phone." Alaska Fishing Machines: Dave Kubiak PO Box 193, Kodiak, Alaska 99615 Phone 907 486 5536 |
